Hermitage Action Group (HAG) was formed by local residents of this rural part of the Scottish Borders in mid-2011; following the alarming disclosure that a company called Infinis (owned by the private equity speculator Guy Hands) had earmarked the setting of one of the area’s most iconic tourist attractions, Hermitage Castle and it’s wild surrounding landscape, for a major industrial development.
The unspoiled setting of Hermitage Castle and the famous Hermitage hills, home of the Border Reivers, are under immediate threat from a profit-driven industrial development of 17 giant (up to 121.5 metres high) wind turbines.
Please help us to protect this historic, wild and beautiful area of the Scottish Borders.
