A wind farm in Dumfries and Galloway has received funding of £82.7 million.

Construction on the 23-turbine Blackcraig site, owned by Blue Energy, is
expected to start next month and be completed by March 2017.

The UK Green Investment Bank, KKR and Temporis Capital have put together
the financing package.

Once operational the wind farm will be able to generate up to 150 gigawatt
hours each year, which is enough to meet the electricity needs of around
37,500 homes.

Christopher Dean, chief executive of Blue Energy, said: “In what has been
an eventful year for UK renewables we are delighted to secure this funding
from Temporis, GIB and KKR.”
