Notice is hereby given that Douglas West Extension Ltd, company no. SC587662, c/o 3R Energy Solutions Ltd, Lanark Auction Market, Hyndford Road, Lanark, ML11 9AX has applied to the Scottish Ministers for consent under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate a wind farm on the eastern part of Cumberhead Forest which lies to the north west of Douglas and south of Coalburn, South Lanarkshire (Central Grid Reference NS 80399 32105). The installed capacity of the proposed generating station would be up to 78 MW of generation comprising 13 turbines with a ground to blade tip height of 200 metres, plus around 20 MW of energy storage capacity. The proposed development is subject to Environmental Impact Assessment and an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report has been produced.
