e-Conference

Ninth International Conference on Wind Turbine Noise.

Thank you all for your comments and thoughts about 2021 and beyond. It is with great regret that we have decided to have a remote conference in 2021 and leave a decision on whether 2022 or 2023 will be the next one until early next year. Also, importantly, we propose to be more flexible in 2021 regarding the types of papers and presentations we will accept. We will certainly accept abstracts and full papers and presentations as normal, but we also invite anyone who feels they have insufficient for a full paper to make a presentation about, for example, the progress of research. We also invite people to propose areas for discussion.

If you want to do a different sort of presentation or paper, then please submit a proposal through the abstract system and describe what you intend instead of the text of your abstract

By the time of the conference we will have had experience of organising the e-Symposium Quiet Drones so we plan that WTN2021 will be as good as we can get it without us actually meeting up in person!

Calling for Papers – Submit your Abstract by 20th November 2020

The conferences attract delegates from the fields of manufacturing, planning development, academia and research and the environment as well as pressure groups, consultants and exhibitors. WTN2021 will provide an opportunity for all those with an interest in wind turbine noise, to present their work, to see and hear other’s work and to meet together albeit remotely and discuss common problems and solutions. We are now accepting abstracts via the conference website and the abstract deadline is 20th November 2020.

Subjects for presentations can be anything related to wind turbine noise – its generation, its prediction, its assessment and its effects on people. After Lisbon it was apparent that some people wanted more work on noise reduction of turbines and on development of more accurate propagation models. And we need more quantitative information on the impact of AM on people.

With the new draft Irish guidelines and other proposals round Europe, you might want to look at the current state of Regulations. But the choice is yours.
