SWEDISH MINISTER of Energy and Climate, Romina Pourmokthari says:
(Epochtimes.se, 1 March 2023)
-
APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR LARGE SWEDISH OFFSHORE WIND FARM WAS REJECTED (13 March by Swedish authorities).
-
The planned ‘Vattenfall Stora Middelgrund Vind’ on the westcoast of Sweden, was rejected in order to protect biological diversity, both marine and bird life.
-
The North Sea has relatively shallow waters, and due to that as well as other factors it is a biological rich sea. Meaning, the whole North Sea basin needs protection from all wind farm building. Its very important function in e.g. food production – and important habitat for numerous species – needs to be well managed and not polluted dangerously by wind farms offshore.
-
‘VATTENFALL STORA MIDDELGRUND VIND’ offshore windfarm was planned with 50 large windturbines of until 290 m total height, 42 km off the coast from Halmstad.
