A SILENT vigil will take place in Newton Stewart this weekend against plans for more windfarms locally.
The event in Dashwood Square on Sunday afternoon is being organised by the Ditch the Blair Hill Project.
Participants will be protesting against the proposals for windfarms at Cumloden and Glentrool, which cumulatively would feature 40 turbines standing 820 feet tall.
They are also concerned about another potential scheme near Three Lochs and the overall impact on the community if they all get the go ahead.

The vigil is being organised by Hands off our Hills, not the Ditch the Blair Hill Project (who I’m not sure exists.

Yes, we kind of realised that! Never trust journalists to get anything right.
