Plans for five proposed wind turbines in East Renfrewshire have taken a step forward.
A proposal of application notice has been submitted to the council for an area immediately east of Dunwan Dam, approximately 2.1 km south of Eaglesham, and 5 km south-east of Newton Mearns.
The proposed development comprises five three-bladed horizontal axis wind turbines up to 200m tip height with a generating capacity of up to 30MW.
The proposed development would also include a number of
ancillary elements such as access tracks, crane hard standings and a control building, as well as temporary features such as a construction compound and laydown areas.
A PAN is not a planning application but a notice to the council advising of how the developer intends to engage with the community about their proposal.
This allows the community to put their views directly to the developer before a planning application is submitted.
Two community consultation events will take place in Eaglesham, with the first one set to take place today (Tuesday, July 2) from 3pm to 7pm at the Eglinton Arms.
The second will take place at the same location on August 22.
Members of the project team representing the applicant and developer, Wind Estate, and the agent, Green Cat Renewables, will be on hand at this drop-in session for the public. https://www.barrheadnews.com/news/24425156.plans-five-proposed-wind-turbines-take-step-forward/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR2xwMFxceWdl02AS3m66fTZtL4xkiS7UY1ECJscI1qkZgc-1T8-xDDEeoU_aem_qmR3KZqgPLuc1O3_I5fUFw

When in the Eglinton arms finding out about the placement of the five turbines at Dunwhan it was Never mentioned to me that the access rd could be a single track road beside our house .If they had said that (and I showed the gentlemen where exactly where I lived on a map) myself and my neighbours would have put in a complaint and this windfarm may not have been passed .
Would it be possible to arrange to see someone from the planning to explain all this
Yours, christine Bryant

Hi Christine. You must contact the planning department at East Renfrewshire Council and you need to put in a written objection to the application.
