A Caithness Wind Farm has launched a competition to name a turbine along with a drawing, poem, painting or story to explain the name suggestion. The competition is open to children between 5 to 12 year olds and the competition winners will have a plaque made for each of the 21 turbines.

An obvious propaganda war, where only the pros are being promoted in the educational establishment, it has rightfully been criticised by Scotland Against Spin and Caithness Windfarm Information Forum.

However, we have decided to help the promoters name a turbine, by providing a handy form below, which will allow you to participate in the competition. Since verifying ages online is very difficult to do, we will assume that anyone responding using the form below will be between the ages of 5 and 12 years old.

Plaques bearing the names will be mounted permanently on the turbines and winners will also receive a £50 Love2Shop Gift Voucher. The competition will be open until Tuesday 20th August 2013.

The developers are looking forward to consider all the suggested names, so let’s make sure they have a lot to choose from. Please be as creative and humorous as you’d like, and explain your suggestion. The form will email the developer, and a carbon copy will be sent to our own accounts, as we will announce our own winners from all the suggestions (we won’t have a prize though). Good luck everyone 🙂

Competition is now closed, winners to be announce shortly
