A FORMER deputy first minister has launched a fourth attempt to build a
controversial windfarm in Aberdeenshire. Lord Nicol Stephen – who set up
Renewable Energy Ventures after his retirement from Holyrood – has
resurrected plans to erect two turbines near Alford.

Planning officers have had to send the application back to the former MSP
twice because of “factual inaccuracies” in environmental statements.

Aberdeenshire Council rejected a third bid last year.
