Leading the way in renewable energy has been one of Scotland’s success stories in recent years, creating economic growth and jobs.

Ministers in London have warned that the subsidies that support the industry might be reduced if Scotland votes for independence, but Scottish nationalists argue England will need its power to keep the lights on.

As rare as hen’s teeth: a report on the BBC about Scottish wind which is not a celebration!
BUT the highlighting of subsidies is only there because typical for BBC Scotland it wants to attack the indy position – i.e. suggest that subsidised wind energy might be under threat following independence.
The underlying premiss of the report – wind is great – and what it purports to show – wind creates loads of jobs, gives kids tennis courts via community turbines, etc – is standard BBC propaganda.
All the images of spinning turbines – which we are doubtless supposed to find beautiful, and a great improvement on the otherwise empty moors – however are so horrific that I think the propaganda undoes itself.
