Throw out Buchan windfarm bid, urge planners

Councillors have been told to deliver the killer blow to hugely unpopular
plans for Buchan’s biggest windfarm.

Planning officers yesterday urged members of the Buchan area committee to
throw out proposals for an eight-turbine development at Hatton, south of
Peterhead.

The multimillion-pound project has generated widespread opposition from
locals, attracting more than 1,000 letters and e-mails calling for the
scheme to be scrapped. Only two have been sent in support.
