TWO giant wind turbines nearly twice as tall as the Wallace Monument could bring a £587,000 windfall to Crossgates if given the go-ahead.
More than 50 residents turned out for an information day on the project, organised by Airvolution Energy Ltd at the village’s community centre, recently.
The firm is looking at erecting the turbines at a site near Woodlee, east of Junction 2A on the M90 and west of the B981 Crossgates to Inverkeithing road.
At 131 metres (429ft), they’re almost double the height of the 67m (219ft) Wallace Monument (219ft).
