A PROPOSED wind farm near New Cumnock is set to have fewer turbines than originally planned.
East Ayrshire Council, acting as a consultee for Scottish Ministers, gave conditional support for the alteration to Greenburn Wind Farm.
Approval was granted in April 2023 for 16 turbines with a maximum blade tip height of 149.9m.
Developers REG Power Management Ltd is now looking to reduce the number of turbines to 14, while increasing the height of 11 turbines to a maximum of 180m and the remaining three to a maximum of 167.5m. https://www.cumnockchronicle.com/news/25054202.fewer-turbines-greenburn-wind-farm-near-new-cumnock/?fbclid=IwY2xjawJafchleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHdyGrmbuP2K0mDpJ9zjz7OZtf8aiMYpejYsAsD8D1MlXd0A4mAGqRlh1SA_aem_m6noTwQLWGdb8gO4m1biNw
