Only those lucky enough to be hibernating will have been able to miss today’s publication of the Scottish Government’s White Paper on independence. The BBC’s Newsnight Scotland programme is appealing for members of the public to join a studio audience for its next debate on independence issues in the wake of the White Paper. The debate will take place on Monday, 2 December, at BBC Scotland’s Pacific Quay HQ in Glasgow. Participants will need to be available from 17:45 to 20:30.

This is a great opportunity to raise the thorny problems of energy, and especially UK-funded wind subsidies, in an independent Scotland, as well as the wider failings of current Scottish wind policy. This is a subject ministers have gone oddly quiet on in recent months.
