Scunthorpe explosion at Tata Steel site wind turbines/The Independent

Three people were hospitalised following a fire at the Tata Steel site in Scunthorpe.

A small fire broke out at 2am at the company’s plant in Scunthorpe. Three casualties were taken to Scunthorpe Hospital with “radiated burns” but have since been discharged.

The incident was initially reported as an explosion in the wind turbine, but Tata Steel have since confirmed the fire was located in their central station inside the power plant.
