Windfarms change hands for £19.1m – The Herald

THE Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has expanded its portfolio in
Scotland with the acquisition of a windfarm in Aberdeenshire

The Meikle Carewe site, near Stonehaven, has been bought, along with the
Tallentire facility at Cockermouth, Cumbria, in a deal worth £19.1 million.

Both windfarms have been bought from renewable energy developer RES.

TRIG had struck an agreement giving it the first option to buy the sites
prior to its initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange main
market in July 2013.

It raised £300m on its entry to the stock exchange to buy a portfolio of 18
assets which included windfarms in Caithness, Moray and Ayrshire.

Meike Carewe, which began operating in July last year, has 12 turbines with
a generating capacity of 10.2 megawatts.

Tallentire, running since May 2013, has six larger-capacity turbines, which
give it the ability to generate up to 12 megawatts of power.
