Glenouther REP, 12 turbines, (a redesign of Harelaw REP, 39 turbines which was Refused by Scottish Ministers in September 2013) was refused by East Ayrshire Council in May 2016. The decision was appealed to the DPEA in August 2016 and was dismissed by the Reporter, Andrew Sikes in May 2017. It then became the subject of a Judicial Review and was quashed in August 2017. It was then sent back to DPEA who refused it again. Reporter’s decision “I conclude that the proposed development does not accord overall with the relevant provisions of the development plan and that there are no material considerations that would still justify granting planning permission.”
It has now been redesigned, the number of turbines reduced but with a height increase to 200m. So we start all over again!
The wind farm sits within East Ayrshire but affects East Renfrewshire and the M77 corridor. It is on the other side of the motorway from Whitelee Wind Farm.
The first public exhibition will be on 15 September at the SAYCA Commnity Centre in Stewarton. 4-8pm
Attached below is the Scottish Water objection to the previous Glenouther application which may be of use to other groups.
