Clackmannanshire Council is to object to plans which would see massive wind turbines erected in the Ochil Hills.
Members of the local authority’s Planning Committee considered the council’s response to an application which has been made to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consent Unit.
If the bid is successful, up to 13 structures would be installed across land in Clackmannanshire and Perth and Kinross.
Principal Planning Officer for Clackmannanshire Council, John Hiscox, said eight of the turbines would be in the Wee County near Alva with five in Perth and Kinross.
SNP councillor Jane McTaggart, who represents Clackmannanshire Central, said she was “totally opposed” to the proposals.
“One particular point is about opening the flood gates for future further development in the Ochils to go ahead really scares me,” she added.
