Nearly 30 protected trees are due to be chopped down in Caithness to allow new wind turbines to be transported.
SSE used compulsory purchase orders to buy approximately 1336 square metres of woodland at Forss, along with other land along the route between Scrabster Harbour and the wind farm site, south of the village of Strathy.
The turbine movements are for [the Strathy South wind farm, which is currently being constructed with 35 turbines up to 200 metres high to their blade-tip. Work began in the spring, with commercial operations expected from 2027.
