According to recent reports in the Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mail, the BBC spent thousands of pounds attempting to thwart a Freedom of Information request regarding an eco-conference BBC executives attended, leading Friends of Science to ask whether the BBC is fairly reporting climate change and energy events. Friends of Science point to similar disturbing discrepancies in Canadian reporting by CBC and Alberta Venture magazine, predicting the end of coal-fired power plants, while not reporting that ‘green’ Germany is building 20 new coal plants that will mirror Alberta’s advanced coal technologies.
