THE Scottish Government has approved plans for a new 20-turbine wind farm
and a new biomass plant.

Ministers have approved the two renewable energy facilities in the
Highlands and Fife respectively.

The wind farm at Moy, near Inverness, will be developed by Eneco Wind UK
and have the capacity to power the equivalent of approximately 31,000
homes, the Scottish Government said.

Forth Energy is behind plans for the combined heat and power biomass plant
at the Port of Rosyth.

The development would produce the equivalent of more than 40% of the Fife
Council area’s electricity requirements.

Finance Secretary John Swinney said: “Projects like this wind farm provides
considerable benefits to the local community.”

Energy minister Fergus Ewing said: “The Port of Rosyth will support local
employment while generating renewable power for local business and industry.”
