SNP ministers have been accused of “selling the family silver” after it emerged they had used a £750 million fund built up from selling offshore wind plots to plug their budget gap. Shona Robison set out her spending plans last week with the Nats facing a £1.5 billion black hole.
But details buried in the documents show that £550m of ScotWind cash has been committed. Of that, £310m is for use in the current financial year alone.
